  • Color Guard - Combined with the CPPHS Competitions Band. The atmosphere and expectations are the same. The group is more equipment focused compared to the other visual groups, however, choreography is a big part of it as well. Competition Color Guard is not audition based. Perform your heart out with the Competition Guard!
  • Dance Machine - Combined with CPPHS Performance Band. The atmosphere and expectations are the same except you get to spin flags and air blades! Unlike the Competition Guard, Dance Machine is more dance focused than equipment focused. Dance Machine is audition based. Brint a smile to the crowd with Dance Machine.
  • Majorettes (home page) - Combined with the CPPHS Performance Band. The atmosphere and expectations are the same except you twirl batons! The equipment you work with in Majorettes is the baton and streamers. Marjorettes is audition based. Twirl and dazzle with the Majorettes! The Majorettes also have a Varsity and Modified competitive team that were 2018 & 2019 NYS Twirling Unlimited Champions.

  • In this band, you will be performing your shows during half-time and in the stands at home football games. Compared to Competition Band, this band is less time consuming, but just as much fun! Performance Band performs for the cheering crowd and the hard working athletes.

  • As a member of the Competition Band you get to travel weekends throughout the fall to present a unique thematic show for audience members and judges alike. Although competition is part of this band, it is a welcoming and encouraging family atmosphere. The Competition Band are 2017 NYSFBC Large School III State Champions, and finished 4th in Large School II in 2021 and 2022.

  • The Symphonic Band is an audition based group composed primarily of upper classmen (no 9th graders). The Symphonic Band performs accomplished music in a concert setting.

  • The Pep Band plays at home basketball games and are in integral part of making the Hawks Nest rock. If you enjoy supporting our sports teams with school spirit, and possibly trying your hand at a new instrument, come check out Pep Band.

Winter Guard (home page)

  • This Color Guard groups takes place during the winter and competes in the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit. This group meets outside of school hours. Winter Guard is open to all students. If you enjoyed spinning with your friends and learning something new, give Winter Guard a try! The Winter Guard is 2018 NECGC PS-A1 and 2019 PSA Champions.

  • This percussion ensemble takes place during the winter and competes in the NYS Percussion Circuit. All percussionists and non-percussionists are welcome to join! This group meets outside of school hours. If you enjoy competing at a high level and learning something new, then Indoor Drumline may be for you! CPPID is 2018 and 2021 NYSPC, PSA-SS Champions.

  • ​You like jazz? Then join Jazz Band! This ensemble meets outside of school hours to plonk out some funky riffs and beats. Jazz Band is also offered year-round so you get a taste of jazz for the entire school year!

  • Concert Band is an audition based group of 9th and 10th graders (or beginners of any grade). The Concert Band performs proficient music in a concert setting

  • When spring arrives it's time to dust off the uniforms and shakos because it is parade season! All of the fall bands combine to form one giant super band! Each band member participates in this group. We play many fun tunes as we march down the cheering streets.
