12. You will be receiving 2 Trip T-Shirts (Green on Day 1 Universal and Red for Day 2) They will go in your Luggage not carryon.

Rules / Considerations / Things to think about. *See the changes pending weather delays or canceled school.

  • We will be searching luggage prior to departure, please refer to the school drug and alcohol policy. All Luggage must be on the stage by 11:00am Wednesday of departure. Mr. Griffin will be at the High School Tuesday from 6-8pm for you to bring luggage the night prior to departure.

  • Failure to adhere to the school district policy on Drugs and Alcohol will result in your immediate removal from the trip and return to Corning at the expense of your family pending any criminal charges or district action.

  • If you don’t feel well at any time, it is your responsibility to let a chaperone or adult know as soon as possible. (or send a friend or seat mate to let us know.)

  • Sometimes, travelers will find that they experience motion sickness on a Bus, if you already know that you are susceptible to this, be sure to take your medication for motion sickness 30 min prior to departure and sit near the front of the bus seating.

  • You are NEVER to be Alone! We utilize the buddy system. If we see you in a park or anywhere outside of your hotel room by yourself we will make sure you have a buddy… (and this could mean Mr. Stork…. so make good choices)

  • You are an ambassador for yourself, school, and our band who is still in the first stages of developing a reputation. - This means you are representing us while away from home. The only thing I should hear from people that come into contact with us is “how great those kids in the red or green teeshirts were”

  • We will set curfew and departure times based on how you are able to not only be on time for events and departures but how fast we can account for you on the bus and depart… so don’t be last, and be early or you’re late.

  • Don’t share blankets on the bus… we reserve the right to assign seating if this becomes a problem. (enough said)

  • Make good choices - personal responsibility for money, belongings and not eating a 2lb package of beef jerky and a 3 liter bottle of mountain dew before we get out of the school parking lot will serve you well.

  • At NO Time are students of the opposite gender to be in each others rooms. Community Spaces or the WaterPark in the Hotel or the Arcade in the Hotel only.

  • * Use your spidey sense…. if it seems like a bad idea…. It is. Don’t.
  • Finally…. This is a BIG trip, and Expensive Trip, and a Privilege. Do not spoil it for yourself, the chaperones who are volunteering their time to support you, or the rest of the Band. Band is Fun… Trips are a large part of that fun! Don’t put yourself in a situation where you are being spoken to by the Directors, or the Administrator unless its positive.

Departure Procedures and Timing

If everything goes according to plan…. “A”

Tuesday Period 1 - We will load equipment and Uniforms / Shakos.
Percussion equipment will be staged for evening rehearsal and not loaded.

Tuesday 6-8pm - All Luggage (carryons if you are able to) can be dropped off so you don’t have to load yourself and luggage on a school bus or to need an extra drop off with a parent. (Go to the Theater)

Wednesday Period 1 - All Remaining equipment will be loaded on the truck and trailer and the equipment will leave CPPHS by period 2. (If you don’t load it…. it won’t be in Florida)

11:00 am. All luggage including carryon to the stage (must be on stage)
1:00pm - Chaperones report to theater with their luggage

1:30 (period 8) All students report to the theater for departure meeting and instructions - at this time you are to memorize your bus attendance number.
2:00 - Bus Arrival, Load and Departure for Florida. from the Cafeteria side Entrance.

————--
If we don’t have school on Tuesday due to snow…. Plan “B”

Tuesday Evening 6-8 Luggage Drop off (still)

Wednesday Period 1 Load All Equipment and Uniforms for departure
Chaperones that can arrive at 8:00 to help with loading equipment are encouraged to do so, with thanks :)
1:30 Student Meeting in theater
2:00 Load / Departure.

___________

If we don’t have school Wednesday but have had school on Tuesday Plan “C”
  • Chaperones … We will contact with regard to timing to load equipment/uniforms when we are ok to come in from the district.
  • Unless otherwise indicated we will report to CPPHS at 12:00pm to load equipment and uniforms and keep to our departure at 2:00pm

___________

If we don’t have School Tuesday and Wednesday…. I will be super stressed out :)
Plan “D”

I will contact all of you via Website, Charms Email and Facebook as to the plan … we may need to adjust departure accordingly. Either earlier or later in consultation with the district and the travel company.
Finally…. Write This Number Down … Save it to your phone or tattoo it onto your nose…

(607)86-BANDS or
(607)862-2637
This Number will ring my cell phone in the event of an emergency…. It is a googlevoice forwarding number that will be active during the trip and I will be able to receive messages without giving out my cell phone number. Please call in the event of an emergency. If I do not pick up - your voice message will translate to a text and generate an email and I will get back to you asap

I can’t tell you how grateful we all are to the Band Boosters, and The School District for their support of this trip. We will be asking for your feedback about the trip so keep an open mind and think about what your favorite parts are and what you may do differently for the future.

Make sure you get all work missed made up as we have received special permission to miss these instructional days of school.

No matter what… always be overly appreciative and respectful as we all know you will.

We’re going to FLORIDA!!!!!

I appreciate you mentioning how you should take the time to meet with the dentist you want to choose in order to get the quality services you need. Personally, I would also want to make a list of services I need from a dentist that knows how to provide the professional advice I need to care for my teeth. It is important to understand that taking the time to assess your own needs and compare several dentists can help you find the best one for the type of dental needs you have.
